OUR INSPIRATION WAS CLEAR
Some trends creep slowly up on you, and before you know it you’re suddenly submerged deeply in them; for us that was PVC.
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PVC & EMBROIDERY
On the surface, PVC is so different to our trademark embroidery.
However, the more we thought about it, the more they felt related - PVC is the ultimate statement neutral.
Much like how Ivory Shannon acts as the subtle, textural exclamation point on an outfit, Crystal does exactly the same thing - but with a different attitude.
SOURCING MATERIALS
We went on a journey to source just the right PVC - it had to be strong but not tough and uncomfortable against the skin.
We tried a few different weights of PVC and we’re happy with where we landed - it holds up to daily wear, yet it is flexible enough to form to the shape of the wearers foot with natural body heat.
We went a few rounds perfecting the pattern for this shoe too, as it’s different from our embroidered clogs. We wanted to ensure a supportive, close fit that didn’t dig in or rub the wearer.
AN IDEA INTO A REALITY
Like all our designs, we work with our small, wife and husband manufacturing team to cut and nail each pair of Crystal clogs completely by hand in San Francisco.
We’re particularly proud of this style as it is a throughly on brand interpretation of a trend that also makes so much sense for and extends our aesthetic.
Not to mention, we adore that we can offer Crystal at a friendlier price point than our embroidered clogs.
