THE MAKING OF A SANTA VENETIA CLOG

Our design philosophy is simple; juxtapose something unexpected - embroidery, PVC or textured leather, against something familiar - traditional wooden clog soles.

Clogs are practical, simple shoes. Our aim in each of our designs is to bring something disruptive and forward thinking into this trusted, reliable category. By mixing high + low fashion and the innovative with the tried + true, our designs break the clog mold; giving women a new option for a style staple that is both safe, and unanticipated. 

Every pair of Santa Venetia clogs is designed and made by hand in California - and doesn’t break the bank. We partner with and support other small business' to source materials and production. It's important to us that we make something that not only looks good, but that we feel good about too.

Designed in the comfort of our Bay Area studio, aka our dining room tables & couches, we then work with a small embroidery manufacturer in Los Angeles to bring our upper designs to life in ecologically dyed, colorfast threads. 

Leather and soles; they're A FAMILY AFFAIR

Our soles are imported directly from a father and son ran business in Sweden, this is the only part of your clog that we pre-order. 

We use supple Italian leather and cozy Spanish nubuck to line and trim our clogs which we source from a family business in San Francisco.

We work closely with a small team of two to sew and nail each shoe 100% by hand in San Francisco.
