THE DESIRE FOR ULTIMATE COZINESS
Back in winter 2017 while we were busy and hyper focused on launching SS18, we were excited to wear our new clogs but we also couldn’t deny it - during the cooler California winter months, our tootsies were a little cold in them.
ENTER SHEARLING
We couldn’t forget the thought of lining our embroidered clogs with soft, warm shearling; the style of the clog wouldn’t be compromised while being worn, but the addition of warmth and coziness would be undeniable.
We took our neutral, go with everything, SS18 best sellers, Ivory Shannon and Ember Sunday, and set about winterizing them.
SOURCING MATERIALS
We went on a journey to source just the right shearling - it had to be consistent in color, soft to the touch, as it was going to be worn against the skin, and just the right thickness to ensure coziness & warmth but not bulk.
We’re pretty stoked with where we landed - it hits all these spots. Bonus, it’s also naturally water resistant for warmth without promoting any glorious foot sweatiness :)
DYK we also treat the uppers, that are small batch embroidered in LA, to be spill resistant? So if you get caught in a quick rain shower, no biggie - we’ve got your back.
AN IDEA INTO A REALITY
We work with our small, wife and husband manufacturing team to cut, sew and nail each shoe by hand in San Francisco.
Every pair is a labor of love for us and the realization of a year-long vision.
